Kamakhya

Description

Rahman Abbas is a celebrated contemporary Urdu novelist and recipient of India's highest literary honor, the Sahitya Akademi Award, which he won in 2018 for his acclaimed novel Rohzin. Known for weaving themes of love, desire, mysticism, and the human body into richly layered narratives, his work has been translated into German, English, and Hindi and widely discussed across literary circles in India, Pakistan, and Europe. As critic Muhammad Aamir Hussaini notes on the cover, Kamakhya brings together language, city, myth, love, and the body into an artistic structure too rich to be reduced to any single moral or ideological reading — a bold addition from one of Urdu fiction's most fearless voices.
