Mahabhoj

Description

Published in 1979, Mahabhoj is one of Mannu Bhandari's most acclaimed novels, inspired by the real-life 1977 Belchhi massacre of Dalits in Bihar. A sharp political satire exposing caste politics, vote-bank opportunism, and the corruption of the justice system in rural India, it has been widely translated and adapted for theatre. A landmark work of modern Hindi literature, now available in Urdu for a wider readership.
