Description

The Urdu translation of Al-Zayyat's Tarikh al-Adab al-Arabi (History of Arabic Literature), described on the cover as a complete and authentic translation. The Arabic original, by the Egyptian writer Ahmad Hasan Al-Zayyat (1885-1968), is a standard history of Arabic literature for secondary and higher education. The Urdu edition opens with the Jahiliyya (pre-Islamic) period: the origin of the Arabic language, prose, proverbs, sermons and orators.
